Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Fiat Group, and Gildo Zegna, CEO of Ermenegildo Zegna Group, have signed a three-year agreement giving birth to a long-term partnership between the two brands, both representing Italian design and manufacturing excellence worldwide.

The first step in this direction pays tribute to the forthcoming Maserati Centennial in 2014, with a Limited Edition of the new Maserati Quattroporte by Ermenegildo Zegna. The Maserati flagship will be reinterpreted and customised with new colours, materials and trims, inspired by the collections of a leading fashion Group in men’s global luxury. In particular, fabrics will be produced by the historic Lanificio Zegna wool mill in Trivero (Italy).

Furthermore, a whole range of new optional trims by Zegna will be available for all Maserati models in 2015. In 2016, taking advantage of the Zegna Group long-term experience in ‘custom-made’ fashion clothes, Maserati will approach new tailor-made solutions, with new colours and trims available exclusively.

The Maserati Quattroporte Limited Edition by Ermenegildo Zegna will be produced in 100 units only and customers will benefit from a unique collection of accessories by Zegna, specially designed for each Maserati. The first prototype will be unveiled during one of the forthcoming International Auto Shows.

The Quattroporte Limited Edition launch will be supported by a communication campaign and a series of important international events, while the partnership will include special initiatives reserved to top customers of the two brands.

We already had a positive collaboration in the pastwith Fiat Group and, in particular, with Maserati,” commented Gildo Zegna, CEO of Ermenegildo Zegna Group. “Both companies have a centenary industrial tradition and are renowned worldwide as ambassadors of Italian excellence. A new partnership during the Centennial celebrations of Maserati, one of the car manufacturers with the most allure, tradition and sporting successes worldwide, is for us an honour and gives us great pride. I am confident that by this renewed collaboration both brands will be able to combine the tailored attention to detail with cutting-edge technology, leading to the creation of a new world icon of style and elegance. The Maserati Quattroporte Limited Edition by Ermenegildo Zegna, with trims and options designed by Zegna, will feature an extremely comfortable interior, evoking the timeless charm of the Italian lifestyle.

“The partnership between Maserati and Ermenegildo Zegna Group is the meeting point of two leading companies representing pioneering Italian design and manufacturing – said Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Fiat Chrysler Group and President of Maserati. “Maserati is a prestigious automotive brand, standing at the edge of an unparalleled strategic and industrial growth in terms of products and market presence. The partnership with an equally prominent company such as Ermenegildo Zegna will benefit both brands and the Fiat Chrysler Group. Furthermore, from a personal point of view, I am proud of this outstanding collaboration between two leading Italian companies.”

About Maserati

Maserati is one of the most fascinating car production companies with a long history of appeal, tradition and sports success. It was founded in Bologna on 1 December 1914 as ‘Officine Alfieri Maserati’. In 1926 Maserati was transformed from a workshop, tuning or developing the vehicles of other companies, into a company designing, building and selling its own. The Maserati brothers adopted the symbol of the Trident and made it the logo synthesising the new company in a single image. At the end of the 1930s, following the acquisition of the company by Adolfo Orsi, a businessman from Modena, Maserati moved to his city to the current site in Viale Ciro Menotti.

Maserati has been part of the Fiat Group since 2005 and is a prestigious brand in the segment of sports cars and luxury saloons. It can be found in more than 60 countries, where it continues to bear witness to Italian sophistication, elegance and style around the world. Today the factory in Viale Ciro Menotti, Modena, and the Maserati Avv. Giovanni Agnelli Plant, inaugurated on 30 January 2013 in Grugliasco, are able to guarantee the highest technical and quality standards.

Maserati celebrated the start of 2013 with the introduction of the new Quattroporte at the Detroit Motor Show, to be followed later in the year by the Ghibli, the new top class saloon which marks Maserati’s entrance into the E segment of the market. Maserati’s excellence has often derived from the experience of competitions on the track. The company has a great sporting tradition that still continues today with the MC12, winner of 14 titles since its debut in the FIA GT Championship in 2004, and also the new GranTurismo MC Trofeo, star of the new single brand trophy, since 2010.
